New study shows women with this health device have more sex

And no, it’s not something buzzy that lives in the second drawer.
Newsflash: listeners make better lovers.
Well at least that’s what new stats from a study conducted by PureProfile on behalf of ihear of 1,000 Australian adults shows.
The data, collected through an online questionnaire found those who have used a hearing aid are 14 per cent more likely to have
regular sex with their partner.
On top of that, those who use a hearing aid have 15 per cent fewer arguments with their partner than those who don’t.
Not huge numbers, but still, in an age where most Australians say they wish they were having more sex (we’re currently having it on average 1.4 times a week, but wish it was 2-4 times per week according to the second
Australian Study of Health and Relationships ), every little bit counts.
While the recent research is not a matter of cause and effect, common wisdom among sexologists and relationship experts tell us that the best aphrodisiac is effective communication . Think about it, even mild hearing loss could make a date partner seem
remote and unresponsive , when he or she just can’t hear you.
The survey was designed to understand the effects of hearing loss, and the way treatment can improve outcomes for the one in six Australians who struggle with the condition ahead of National Hearing Awareness Week (20 – 26 August).
“It’s no secret that hearing loss can affect so many aspects of our lives and the lives of those around us,” Shane Bullivant, Managing Director at ihear tells myBody+Soul . “But the good news is that taking action on hearing loss has shown to create outcomes that are quite compelling.”
This isn’t the first study to show a correlation between listening and better sex. Researchers at John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health found that empathetic men who were responsive set up a ‘feedback cycle,’ which increased a woman’s pleasure.
